• Art. Justice. Action.

SCU•Presents Arts for Social Justice - ASJ - is a collaborative, interdisciplinary initiative whose mission is to raise awareness about critical issues addressing the human condition. We foster dialogue and action in our community through the creation and participation in a wide variety of art forms, both on and off campus.

The goal of ASJ is to engage our community by presenting artistic projects that address important social justice issues that impact our community. As we explore subjects such as social inequality, homelessness, and economic disparity, we seek to bridge the gap between life at Santa Clara University and our surrounding communities.

Ultimately, we are asking the question, "How can I be a catalyst for change?"

"It is not enough to be Compassionate ... You Must Act."

ASJ is comprised on three programs:

School Outreach Tours - “Breaking Through” by Francisco Jiménez

SCU•Presents produces and presents a series of 50-minute plays that address a social justice issue that is pertinent to our local community. Performances are presented at schools in the North California area. Learn more here.

Partnerships

SCU•Presents fosters partnerships with Santa Clara University students, staff, faculty, clubs, organizations, and departments to develop and present performing arts and visual arts that address social justice issues. These projects are presented to our on-campus community and our surrounding public.
