Queer Film Festival: Boy Erased
A true story of one young man's struggle to find himself while being forced to question every aspect of his identity. The son of a Baptist preacher in a small American town, is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion program after being forcibly outed to his parents at age 19. Now he is faced with an ultimatum: attend a conversion therapy program - or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith.

Rev. Sammie Evans is an ordained Presbeterian minister of the PCUSA tradition and a queer woman of faith, whose ministry is actively engaged in LGBTQ+, interfaith and radical justice efforts. She serves as the head pastor of Stone Church of Willow Glen, and co-facilitates an LGBTQ+ Faith Group through the church. 
 
Kenneth Dowling is a mental health counselor for students at SCU CAPS, and a PhD candidate in clinical psychology at Palo Alto University. His area of expertise is on helping LGBT people integrate religion, spirituality, and sexuality, as well as navigate family and coming out issues. Over the years he has been active in leadership at various LGBT Catholic and Christian organizations.
