COVID-FAQS

Planning your visit to Santa Clara University Performing Arts Center

WELCOMING YOU HOME, SAFELY

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU AND OUR COMMUNITY

The health and safety of our patrons, employees, and artists is our top priority. In an effort to keep our community safe as we reopen our venues, we have put several safety protocols in place. Many of these safety measures came directly from you, our beloved audience.

YOU ASKED, WE LISTENED:

1. Proof of Vaccination or Negative Covid Test

To keep everyone as safe as possible for our initial return to the theatre, we require all individuals ages 12 and up to show proof of vaccination (defined as two weeks after your final shot) and a photo ID at every performance they attend. Patrons can show either paper or electronic documentation (digital vaccination record or photo of vaccination card).  California residents may obtain a digital vaccine record at http://MyVaccineRecord.cdph.ca.gov.

  • Guests under age 12, those who need a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons, or customers who are unvaccinated due to sincerely held religious beliefs must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than one week prior to entering the facility.
  • If you plan to attend a performance with a child under the age of 12 who is not vaccinated, please call the Box Office at (408) 554-4015 to discuss seating and safety options.
  • Children under 2 will not be admitted to the theatre.

2. Masks

All patrons, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask with the exception of children under the age of two and medical exemptions. Note: An approved face covering means one that is well-fitted to an individual and covers the nose and mouth especially while talking. A face covering does not include a scarf, ski mask, balaclava, bandana, turtleneck, collar, single layer fabric, or any mask that has an unfiltered one-way exhaust. Disposable masks will be available to patrons who need a mask to attend the event. Audience members who fail to follow SCU•Presents’ safety protocols will be asked to put on a mask or promptly leave the performance venue.

3. Enhanced Cleaning

Enhanced cleaning practices have been put into place. We’ve hired extra cleaning staff for frequent cleaning and disinfection.

4. Hand Sanitizer

We’ve placed multiple hand sanitizer stations in each SCU•Presents’ space so you can keep your hands clean and germ free!

5. HVAC

Breathe easy knowing that all ventilation systems in the SCU•Presents spaces meet the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

6. Social Distance Seating

To welcome you back with ease and comfort, we have reduced the capacity of our venues and are recommending that audience members keep one seat free between each party at all performances.

7. Staff Protocols

All of our front of house and backstage staff have undergone rigorous safety training, adhere to strict safety protocols, and are required to show proof of vaccination or negative test results to come to work. All front of house staff and volunteers will wear masks to keep patrons and themselves safe.

8. Digital Tickets

To provide a touchless experience, we are issuing electronic (print-at-home and mobile) tickets for performances at SCU•Presents. Tickets will be mailed upon request. We recommend that patrons purchase tickets in advance either over the phone or online. Patrons will be able to purchase tickets in person, following social distancing guidelines. Please note lines can be long at the Box Office the night of the event, but the performance will start on time regardless.

9. Worry-free refund policy and no exchange fees

If a paid, ticketed event is canceled or postponed to protect public and community health you may request a refund from the Box Office or apply those funds to future performances. We are also eliminating all exchange fees at this time. Please call the Box Office at (408) 554-2396 or email us at  scupresentsboxoffice@scu.edu within 24 hours prior to the performance to ensure we are able to exchange your ticket in a timely manner. Exchanges will be accepted up to 30 minutes before the performance.

10. Digital Program Book

Please enjoy a digital version of the program which can be found in the Pre-Performance Email sent 24 hours prior to the event. QR codes are also available in the lobby to view the program with your phone. Limited printed programs will be available in the lobby upon request.
